Unfortunately we got to know Iain too late in life to get to know the true man he always was, this is something we will always regret.
The man we did get to know struggled to communicate, which we could see was so frustrating for him, but he never once let it stop him, and never looked for sympathy or allowances.
In getting to know Iain and his past achievements showed us that he was a highly intelligent hard working man with true visions of what he wants done. He has left a long lasting legacy with his projects in the many distilleries of the water of life he helped to build and produce the worlds best whiskies.
His home from home he renovated in the south of France is a legacy the family can enjoy for generations to come..
Yes we got to know Iain too late in life, but we feel we got to know him more through Allan and the stories he’s told.
Iain is now at peace, no more frustrations, no more pain, and he leaves a huge hole in the lives of his family that can not ever be truly filled, but accepted and remembered by us all.
Rest in peace Iain. I will think of you fondly anytime I enjoy a super single malt.
